Deputy Minister of Defense, Wojciech Skurkiewicz, has announced in the Sejm the formation of the first F-35 squadron of the Polish Air Force within the next 7 years. The next batch of fighters would appear in Polish bases after 2026.

The Minister of Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, has announced some time ago a purchase of a modern 5th generation multirole aircraft for Polish pilots. From the course chosen by our government, after coming to power in 2015, one could presume that it would be an American product.

Thirty two Lockheed Martin F-35 fighters are to be acquired as part of the HARPIA program and are to replace the venerable Su-22 fighter-bombers.
