What is Arcturus up to?
What is Arcturus up to?

For some time now Arcturus has been publishing intriguing photos on Facebook:

This is undoubtedly the prototype receiver of a replica from the AK family. Pay attention to the characteristic "hooks" in the rear and a hinge for folding the buttstock to the left. Somewhere we have seen this:

Another interesting photo:

The arrow and graphics were added by Arcturus. The photo shows the receiver with the buttstock folded to the left side, a prototype pistol grip and a unique, among the AK replicas, spring replacement system indicated by the red arrow which may also act as an adjustment of the main spring's initial tension. A similar latch clamp has already been seen somewhere ...

The last photo probably explains everything:

Well ... It seems that we will soon have another replica of the latest AK carbine, the AK-12, on the market (the second one after LCT's version). Or maybe also the RPK-16? Either way, there is no reason to doubt that another product by MOS (Arcturus) will be as robust/successful as its previous ones. What's more, a feature unprecedented in the AK replica, the possibility of adjusting or changing the muzzle velocity on the fly is very interesting. All we can do now is wait patiently. We hope that Taiwangun, which is the leading distributor of Arcturus in Poland, will give us the opportunity to carefully inspect the replica.

But the photos of the AK-12 were not the only interesting ones posted on the Arcturus' profile.

Here is a receiver of an AR-15 with an slanted magazine well.

And here is the front with RIS rails and a characteristic gas block and folding front sight.

Next comes the outer barrel and dummy gas system with a piston.

The stock and the magazine.

The finally the whole set.

Do we know what it is? The question remains: when?

the photos come form Arcturus Airsoft Facebook profile and from the AK-12 LCT review at wmasg.com
