In recent days, there have been some interesting information about the latest versions of the AK carbine in the media. Because we like and respect the AKs, we decided to share it. So - here we go! :)

1. AK-12 US

The Kalashnikov concern announced the release of AK-12 rifles which, according to the nomenclature and regulations adopted in Poland, would be described as "devoid of combat characteristics" - in other words: deactivated. Detailed information on how the weapons were deactivated has not been published. We only know that shooting and restoring the original functionality are impossible. The weapon is not a replica/dummy - all parts come from the military version. However, the basic functionality of moving parts has been retained - safety switch/charging handle/trigger pull.

This year, 2,000 units of rifles marked as УС-АК12 will hit the market, meaning "training, deactivated" (У - Учебный, С - Спасанный) in a rather free translation.

The price is 19,900 RUB, or about 315 USD.

The sale is done by the official store of the Kalashnikov Concern. The is a LINK to the offer.

2. AK TR3

In August this year, the AK TR3 carbine, the civilian AK-12/AK-15 variant, will appear on the civilian market. The carbine will be produced in two calibers, 5.45x39 mm (equivalent of the AK-12) and 7.62x39 mm (equivalent of the AK-15). By design, the weapons are very close to the military versions. Of course, the trigger mechanism is changed and the weapon shoots only with single fire. The capacity of dedicated magazines was also limited. But the outlet device has been retained which allows quick mounting of a bayonet. :)

Civil magazines will have a capacity of 10 rounds, despite the appearance and dimensions of 30-round magazines.

3. AK-12 and AK-15 in the Russian army

Finally, just a reminding of a bit older information. According to the agreement made between the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Kalashnikov Concern, within the next three years, 150,000 AK-12 and AK-15 carbines are to be handed over to Russian soldiers. Deliveries will be divided into three batches of 50,000 units within the next 3 year (2019 to 2021).

We already have the first airsoft version of the AK-12/AK-15. Of course, we are talking about the LCK-12 by LCT Airsoft which was reviewed at our website. Now we are waiting impatiently for a replica made by MOS/Arcturus, which is expected to appear in September. Taiwangun promised us to send us a pre-production version a little earlier.
