ICS Airsoft presented the PCC TR-9 airsoft replica from Taran Tactical Innovation (TTI TR-9 PCC by ICS Airsoft at MOA 2025) during last year's MOA trade show in Taiwan. The design comes from the company founded by the multiple-award-winning USPSA and IPSC shooter Taran Butler. The platform itself combines the proven and widely used AR platform with the 9 mm caliber (6 mm in the case of the airsoft replica, of course), offering it in a new and improved configuration.
Both the original and the replica feature a distinctively designed receiver, a rather unique round-profile M-LOK handguard (made of aluminum or carbon fiber in the case of the replica), as well as a BCM Mod. 1 stock. Both replica variants also feature full Taran Tactical Innovation markings. In the case of the replica, this is made possible through cooperation with Evike Manufacturing Group.
Inside the replica, we find several proprietary ICS Airsoft solutions: a split gearbox with a quick-change spring system, either the SSS.III ETU control system or a conventional MOSFET, depending on the model selected, as well as an EBB system. The replica variant equipped with the SSS.III system will additionally feature upgraded components of the pneumatic system, including a nozzle, cylinder head, piston head, and piston from Master Mod.
The replica also features a short-travel trigger, an additional trigger shoe, and an internal spring-release mechanism integrated into the fire selector.
The replica was developed with the involvement of Evike Manufacturing Group, which is responsible for the official airsoft licensing of Taran Tactical Innovation products. Interestingly, the replica is already available from the Evike store and, rather unusually, on the official Taran Tactical Innovation website as well, in the section dedicated to airsoft. The replicas are available for $549.
The gas-powered variant of the replica, which was unveiled alongside the AEG versions, has not yet received an official release date. The only information provided is that it is expected to hit the market by the end of this year.
