German Precision Optics has unveiled an updated version of its RangeGuide 10×50 binoculars with an integrated laser rangefinder. The manufacturer has introduced an improved electronic system and a next-generation laser. Changes have also been made to the data display system and the operation of individual modes.
The binoculars were developed primarily for hunters and long-range shooters looking for a combination of an observation device and a rangefinder in a single unit. Despite featuring 50 mm objective lenses, their dimensions and handling are intended to be similar to those of conventional 42 mm binoculars. The integrated rangefinder uses an eye-safe Class 1 laser with a response time of 0.25 seconds. The manufacturer states a maximum measuring range of 3,600 yards. The device can also operate in scanning mode, taking three measurements per second.
True Range Angle technology is used to calculate the corrected distance, taking into account whether the target is above or below the user. The binoculars can also display the measured angle. In addition, the device displays the ambient temperature, which can be useful when taking a shot. Measurement results are presented on an OLED display with nine brightness levels. In the updated version, the manufacturer has improved its readability under different lighting conditions. The way the individual modes are operated has also been changed to allow users to access the required data more quickly. However, the announcement does not provide details of the changes made to the electronics and display, nor does it explain exactly how the operation of the modes has been modified.

The optical system uses 50 mm objective lenses with double-HD laminated lenses featuring proprietary GPObright coatings designed to increase light transmission. According to the manufacturer, these solutions provide high resolution, edge-to-edge image sharpness and good performance in low-light conditions. The binoculars have a twilight factor of 22.36. The field of view of the RangeGuide 10×50 is 330 feet at 1,000 yards. The exit pupil diameter is 5 mm, eye relief is 17 mm, while the minimum focusing distance is 9.8 feet.
The construction is based on a magnesium chassis which, together with the efficient internal laser system, has allowed the device to retain its compact dimensions. The body features a durable covering designed for use in demanding field conditions. The housing is waterproof. The device measures approximately 55.8 mm × 134.6 mm × 160 mm, while the binoculars weigh approximately 992 g.
According to the manufacturer’s announcement, shipments of the updated binoculars have begun from Germany. The devices are to be supplied to authorized retailers in the United States as well as to the GPO USA online store. No information has been provided regarding the availability of the binoculars in Poland.
