Due to the IWA 2020 being postponed to a somewhat distant date, many manufacturers and distributors have modified their marketing plans. The "fireworks" with which they had planned to surprise us in Nuremberg, did not "go off" for obvious reasons. Some will probably keep their new products secret until autumn, but others decided not to and therefore we have just started to find out what was to be shown at IWA.
Quite extensive information about its new products was provided to us by Specna Arms. This year, one of the key moments for the brand will be the introduction of a new series of replicas from the EDGE™ family - the EDGE 2.0. The new models are based on a full metal design known from the EDGE AEG models. As before, the 2.0 line consists of replicas with Specna Arms and licensed Rock River Arms markings. What distinguishes the EDGE 2.0 is the factory-built GATE ASTER™ control unit with innovative optical sensors and a wide range of functions. In addition, the EDGE 2.0 replicas will be equipped with a high-torque motor, a flat hop-up and a new ESA2 spring replacement system. The ESA2 is, in theory, a tool-free system that allows to change the spring in less than a minute. Its enough to unscrew the stock guide (buffer tube in a replica with the telescopic stock) and unscrew the spring guide.
Soon, the new HK416 inspired H series, announced last year, will also appear on the market. The H series in EDGE standard was announced in October 2019 and was met with great interest from potential users. All the work on new replicas has already been completed and in the coming months, more specifically, in the first half of 2020, the new H series replicas will go to stores. The most important information, however, is that they will be carbines in the EDGE 2.0 specification, with the GATE ASTER™ system, as described above.
The next premiere prepared by Specna Arms will be the long-awaited EDGE J-series™ replicas, i.e. AK system replicas. The J-series is to have a very robust design with a steel outer barrel and many other parts made of steel. The offer will include both classic models with wooden parts and tactical models with RIS/Picatinny and M-LOK rails. The J-series replicas will be powered by a gearbox configured in the specification called SA ORION™ V3 with the Enter&Convert™ quick spring change system.
In addition, plans are to further develop cooperation with Rock River and to make completely new replicas under the license from Daniel Defense and Strike Industries.
