Quoting Russian sources, the TheFirearmBlog site provided information about signing an agreement between the Kalashnikov Group and the Russian Ministry of Defense for the supply of 150,000 AK-12 and AK-15 rifles. The tranches, numbering units 50,000 each, are to be handed over to Russian soldiers every year for the next three, that is by 2021. The value of the contract and the proportion between the number of AK-12 (5.45x39) and AK-15 (7.62x39) carbines remain confidential.
In the light of the information above, the delivery of 2,500 carbines that happened in December is not entirely clear. Was it based on a separate order or is it a part of this contract.
For us, information about the AK-12/AK-15 are interesting mainly due to the completely new replica produced by LCT. At this very moment, we are testing a copy of the LCT-12, with the serial number 0004.
