G&G Armament has just announced that the modernized M14 (GR14) replicas will hit the market in May, so just in a few days. The modernization of the entire line consists of replacing the classic contact switch used so far with an ETU (Electronic Trigger Unit) system with a built-in mosfet.
As you can see in the photo above, the system has a modular structure. The first part is the element working with the trigger:
and the other is a PCB board which, depending on the replica, is placed in the stock (replicas with classic rifle stocks) or in the handguard (EBR versions):
Since the complete ETU will also be available as an accessory, we assume that it is compatible with the replicas that were produced so far. The lack of information about a new kind of trigger used seems to support this theory.
All versions of the GR14 replicas will be modernized, including both the EBR and the M1 Garand based on the GR14 design.
