Military Armament Corp. (MAC), a brand of SDS Imports, has introduced a new pistol-caliber carbine (PCC), the MAC IX. The semi-automatic, blowback-operated model was designed for shooters seeking a modern, compact, and modular platform. The carbine offers AR-style ergonomics, with a typical pistol grip and intuitive controls familiar to AR-15 users.
The MAC IX was made in Knoxville, Tennessee, although the lower receiver is marked "Made in Turkey." The upper receiver features a full-length Picatinny rail, allowing for the mounting of optics, red dot sights, or iron sights. The manufacturer also includes adjustable iron sights. The entire carbine is made of precision-machined 7075-T6 aluminum and has a durable, black anodized coating.
The carbine has a 6.5-inch barrel, an overall length of 405 mm, and weighs 2.2 kg. It comes standard with two metal MP5 magazines, a cleaning kit, an extra bolt spring pin, and a sturdy, locking carrying case. The MAC IX has features typical of AR platforms, including an ambidextrous charging handle, M-LOK rails on the front handguard, and a threaded barrel for mounting muzzle devices.
