We measure and compare the basic parameters of many BBs available in Polish stores, but of course this is not a full overview of what the market has to offer. In this article, will write bout tests of BBs that we had in the editorial office and those that the Taiwangun store provided especially for this occasion. Of course, we assume that we will need to update our data with the results gathered after testing more brands.

The first stage of the test are basic measurements done without the use of complicated and highly sensitive devices. This type of examination can be successfully performed by anyone. We will also conduct serious and detailed laboratory tests and target shooting tests and share the result with you soon.

The section below will present the results of weight, muzzle velocity and consistency measurements, additionally supplemented by calculations of the cost of filling a single hi-cap magazine for each type of BBs tested. The results are grouped by weight. We start from 0.25 g BBs. On the following pages we will show results for equally popular 0.28 g and 0.30 g BBs. Finally, results of tests done on 0.2 g, 0.23 g and 0.32 g BBs will be showsn. We will devote a separate article for showing the results achieved by heavier BBs.

Weight

We were weighing BBs in groups of 10. The graph illustrates a group's arithmetic mean weight.
The average weight of the reference G&G BB is 0.253 g.

Weight: average - 0.251 g, spread - 0.007 g

Muzzle velocity measurements

Testing platform: APS UAR with an M110 SHS spring. The test was carried out on our own enclosed shooting range, at an ambient temperature of 19°C using a XCORTECH X3500 chronograph.

The graph shows the average (median) value of 10 shots for each type of BBs.
Reference G&G BBs result: 380.10 fps. The box shows the average value and spread for the whole group.

Muzzle velocity: average - 381.30 fps, spread - 8.55 fps

Consistency of muzzle velocity measurements

The graph illustrates the spread (difference) between the highest and lowest values within 10 shots for each type of BBs.
Reference G&G BBs result: spread 1.9 fps. The box shows the values calculated for the whole group.

Consistency (spread of 10 results), less = better: average - 5.10 fps, spread - 5.30 fps

Price

As the price determinant, we assumed the cost of filling a standard hi-cap magazine for the M4/M16 (AR-15) replica.
Prices are calculated based on the offer of leading Polish online stores.

PRICE FOR 300 BBs (AR-15 type hi-cap magazine): average - 2.85 PLN, spread - 3.98 PLN
