On May 4 LCT Airsoft has presented on its Facebook page, new motor mounts made of 6061-T6 aluminum. These are reinforced parts designed for AK and VSS/VAL replicas and other related to them.
According to the announcement, the parts are to be more robust and more durable than standard parts made of the ZnAl alloy. This is probably especially important for owners of the VSS and VAL replicas made by LCT. We did not have the opportunity to examine those replica at our editorial office, but the comments under the post promoting the mounts indicate that the factory parts fail quickly. Until recently, the solution was the use of the Bullgear accessory mount available on the Internet, costing around 50 USD. LCT products are slightly cheaper. At the Tiger111 store they currently cost 37 USD.
The PK361 mount for the VSS/VAŁ/SR-3/SR-3M LCT:
The problem of mounts cracking is supposedly not present in AK replicas. Nevertheless, LCT also introduces the PK350 mount:
The price at Tiger111 is identical, 37 USD plus shipping and other fees. For comparison, a standard LCT mount (AK version) made of ZnAl costs about 9 USD.
By the way, Tiger111 also has in stock the recently described high torque slim grips and motors for AK replicas. Sets with a black and a red grip cost 70 USD each. The soon-to-be released set with a sensational-looking bakelite grip will be much more expensive and will cost 90 USD. Remember, however, that we are talking about sets: a motor with an increased torque plus a dedicated grip.
