The American brand SIG Sauer has organized its SIG Next event in mid-June, where it presented new products. This included new products in the category of pistols, carbines, conversions and optics. What new products have been prepared?

Pistols

One of the hottest new products presented is the Flux Raider conversion kit for the SIG P365 pistol, a sub-compact design. The conversion for SIG's smallest pistol borrows many elements from the Flux conversion for the SIG P320 pistols and includes a folding stock and a new frame integrated with a grip that holds an additional magazine and an automatic magazine ejection system. Due to the short barrel (around 3-4 inches depending on the model), the SIG FLUX was built on the basis of a new, dedicated 6-inch barrel and an additional extension that serves as both a barrel cover and a grip/hand rest. Three variants have been announced: Sentry, Optic Only and the basic Slick. The individual variants will be differentiated in terms of accessories such as optics (available in the Sentry and Optic Only variants) or magazines (from 17 rounds, through 21 rounds to 25 rounds in the Sentry variant).

Other new products are the new models from the SIG P365, SIG P320 and SIG P226 lines. The announced models are the P365 LUXE, P320 MAX SXG and P226-X Legion and P226-X Carry Legion.

Another interesting thing is the return of designs that draw on elements from the Colt 1911 design, i.e. the P211-GTO model. Unlike the flagship family of P320 pistols, here we have a hammer design with smooth operation, a different frame and manipulators very similar to the 1911 design or the grip safety. The whole thing is fed from the P320 family magazines.

Along with the new Flux Raider P365 conversion, a small detail was also presented in the form of a new SIG Lock Optic mounting system. Based on experience with the M18 and M17 pistols, some changes were introduced, increasing the number of contact points between the optics and the slide and enabling the use of other optics standards.

Carbines

In the long gun category, a strong focus was placed on designs based on the AR-15. The first of these is the return of the 516 series in the form of the Mohawk model.

Instead of the rather conservative AR-15 design, we received a one based on a short stroke piston with a 16-inch barrel, a free float handguard in the M-LOK standard and a cutout for a gas regulator, a receiver equipped with a classic charging handle at the rear and a side lever similar to the flagship SIG XM7/M5 model. The whole thing is chambered in 5.56x45 mm and fed from standard AR-15 magazines.

For those interested in the .277 Furry/6.8x51 mm caliber, the SIG HYP carbine has been prepared.

This one is based on the AR-10 with a rather classic appearance. Despite this, SIG Sauer focused on refining the carbine for the .277 Furry ammunition, which resulted in quite a large number of changes inside due to the increased pressure of the ammunition. These include a reinforced receiver, barrel ramp and a cold-forged bolt carrier and barrel.

The whole weapon is to be compatible with selected AR-10 trigger chamber standards.

Optics and accessories

In addition to the weapons, optics were also presented in the form of a spotting scope with mechanical stabilization (SCAR6™ HDX PRO from SIG Sauer is now available) and a new variant of the SIG Romeo 8T AMR red dot sight and magnifier (Innovations in SIG Sauer optics).

Other new products include the BRAVO 6T 3-16x44 mm and 5-30x56 mm scopes that work with a ballistic computer. Together with the eTRAK and ZeroSync sensors, they allow for ballistic corrections displayed on the reticle and for providing parameters necessary for long-range shooting.
