The Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, during a meeting in the Land Forces Training Center with the heads of the Voivodeship Military Staff and participants of the "Military Challenge", a campaign encouraging to join the army, announced that "Prospective future members of Special Forces units will be selected at the stage of candidate service".
The head of the Ministry of National Defense informed that on Friday, July 26, 2019, that he signed a regulation regarding recruitment to Special Forces, assuming that candidates for operators will be chosen by instructors at the stage of candidate service. "The selection of candidates for special forces will be done at the initial stage of the candidate service, and the change will allow the preparation of people with appropriate physical and mental predispositions to serve in this type of units, which is a difficult and demanding service" - said the minister.
Another important change, especially for secondary school graduates, is the extension of the deadline for submitting applications for appointment to the candidate service. At present, graduates only have until March 31 of each year to submit the documents. According to the new regulations, high school graduates will have more time to decide on submitting documents to military universities.
