Taiwangun restocked its inventory of JG replicas. Several models, which have been missing for some time, have returned to the offer. Different versions of G36, SIGi 55x and Steyr AUG replicas are available. But in our opinion, the most interesting are the M-16A and the M4-A, i.e. two replicas with a pedigree dating back to the Vietnam War. Currently, dozens of replicas of modern versions of AR are available in stores and the classics ones have almost disappeared from the market. Hence our interest.
The M-16A is a fairly faithful replica of the M16A1 rifle with a characteristic triangular handguard, a thinner barrel than and a slotted flash hider (prong type) used in later versions of the rifle. A smooth pistol grip without additional finger nub is also appropriate.
From minor inaccuracies, the handguard delta ring is conical, not cylindrical and the stock butt plate has an opaning flap, which should not be present at all.
The second rifle is the M4-A model being a replica of the Colt XM177E2. Here replication is also at a decent level. Apart from the color (the replica is black), the most noticeable difference is the rather thick front grip, which provides space for a battery.
Both models are a good base for building custom replicas of weapons from the Vietnam War. We will present you one of the possible modifications in the near future.
