The rimfire weapons are usually associated with calm, precise, amateur, stationary target shooting and not with elaborate techniques used at a shooting range ala John Wick or Lukas Botkin. Meanwhile, rimfire weapons, whether rifles or pistols, can be a good tool for effective and cheap training and, contrary to popular belief, can also cost a lot. Most sport shooters know the names of such brands as Margolin, TOZ or Radomka.
Most also know that CZ is one of those companies that produces high-quality weapons, including rimfire ones.
Not so long ago, CZ introduced the CZ457 (caliber .22LR) to the market, that is slowly replacing the very successful CZ 455.
The new model introduced several changes to the CZ455 design, including the ability to quickly disassemble the bolt with press of a button, without having to press the trigger, a redesigned safety, a firing pin position indicator and, finally, the angle of the bolt opening reduced by 30 degrees, allowing the scopes to be mounted on a lower mounts.
The latest model CZ457 is a carbine marked with the LRP letters, i.e. Long Range Precision.
As the name may suggest, the manufacturer has intended this rifle for precise shooting over longer distances, and the results are to be guaranteed by: a cold forged 21 inch (525 mm) long Varmint type channeled barrel, finished with 1/2x20 UNF thread with compensator screwed on it, and a "match" chamber available so far only with the CZ 457 MTR model. The stock, reminiscent of those found in sniper rifles, has a wide range of adjustment (length, with the help of inserts, and cheek pad height) and the possibility of installing a monopod under the butt. In the set, the shooter also receives a Weaver rail for 25 MOA optics, for precise aiming over longer distances, a 5-round magazine and a cover. The weight of the weapon is 3.8 kg, overall length 1010 mm. The price is currently unknown.
