Not so long ago we wrote about additional characters available in Call of Duty Modern Warfare, namely RONIN. who is based on a real operator-veteran of the Green Berets.
An important character, a GROM unit operator, has joined the set of available characters in the Call of Duty game.
If our memory serves us right the last major title in which the soldier from our best spec ops unit have appeared was the game Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The game was the first which benefited from the experience, photos and a "weapon" real operators on such a large scale. Former JWG operator, currently writer of read books and Helikon-Tex ambassador, NAVAL, took part in the development of the Polish version of the game and the design of the GROM character.
The GROM operator in CoD is equipped with a characteristic black tactical suit with a hood (originally made by KAMA) and the AVON CT-12 gas mask.
The operator's vest is similar to the GROM's Eagle MMAC and DBT FAPC plate carriers used several years ago. On the vest and sleeves of the suit we can see the characteristic black and white IR patch with the Polish flag and on the vest the is a CAT compression band attached (though not very correctly). On the belt we can see a holster resembling the BHI Serpa or the Safariland GLS.
On the back we see a sniper rifle based on the AX-50 design. The whole silhouette is complemented by a carbine that largely resembles the latest Polish weapon, the MSBS GROT (although the carbine also looks like the G36). On the side of the rifle we can see an eagle with a crown.
It is worth mentioning that the introduction of the GROM operator to the game is a response to a petition of the Polish fans of Call of Duty, which was initiated in May.
The petition was supported by websites such as gram.pl, Eurogamer.pl, or PPE.pl
