The Baltskin® Viper helmets made by Galvion have been selected as the new helmet model for the specialized Bundeswehr units (Helm SpezKr schwer). The equipment will be delivered to the German army via Rheinmetall Soldier Electronics GmbH.
Germany has entered into a contract for delivery of around 20,000 units with an initial batch of 5,000. The first helmets are to be delivered to soldiers in the second quarter of 2021. The new helmet system has been developed according to strict technical standards and parameters of the German Ministry of Defense and has undergone thorough testing and comprehensive user evaluation.
The Viper helmet will be delivered to soldiers in a custom German Green color and will be equipped with a modular Galvion suspension system that can be adapted to the various mission requirements. Viper helmets are lighter and offer better protection and better integration with communication and night vision devices than currently used models.
Galvion has an impressive track record of selling its products globally. Among its key buyers are the armed forces of the USA, Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, as well as many NATO special units.
