A new pistol by Kel Tec
Most of us associate the Kel Tec company with a slightly futuristic KSG shotgun. Built in the bull pup configuration, this pump action shotgun is feed from two tube magazines with a capacity of 4 to 12 rounds each (depending on the version).
This time Kel Tec has surprised shooters again by presenting the P50 pistol.
The weapon is chambered for 5.7x28 mm ammunition and is fed from 50 round magazines designed for the... FN P90 submachinegun.
The said magazine is placed under a raised cover equipped with a picatinny rail, which is somewhat reminiscent of attaching an ammo belt in a machinegun. The gun was not equipped with iron sights, but a QD point was provided to attach the carrying sling.
The dimensions of the gun are: 380 mm long, 170 mm high, 50 mm wide with a barrel length of 244 mm ended with a 1/2-28 TPI thread. The weight of the unloaded weapon is 1.43 kg and the trigger resistance is 22N. The weapon is to be delivered to the user with two magazines holding 50 rounds each. The suggested price is 995 USD. The first units are to be delivered to customers in the first quarter of 2021.
