In April this year, we wrote about the plans of the Japanese airsoft manufacturer Tokyo Marui regarding the release of a new replica of the H&K MP5A5 NGRS (Next Generation Recoil Shock) submachine gun. The Japanese have just set the release date of the replica on August 18, 2021.
The replica is equipped with the "M-System", which uses an electronic FET trigger, providing, among other things, the possibility of firing 3 BB bursts and a better response of the mechanism to trigger pull, while ensuring continuous monitoring of the system using 7 sensors and response to irregularities in the form of interruptions work in the event of a failure. The system also ensures that the replica stops working after the last BB has been fired from the magazine and the bolt is released using the "legendary" charging handle "HK slap". The handle itself is to be strengthened precisely for this purpose, so that a user can "slap" it at will.
The recoil simulation is provided by the Recoil Shock system, which imitates the movement of a 300-gram MP5 bolt and the recoil it provides. Other features of the replica that bring it closer to the original include the weight of the Tokyo Marui MP5A5 Next Gen M-System - 3.1 kg, which is very similar to the MP5 in this configuration.
The receiver is a die-cast powder coated alloy that creates a distinctive and realistic finish. The front part of the replica is made of aluminum, and the handguard, the pistol grip and trigger unit, the stock's plate and the charging handle knob are nylon - the first time Tokyo Marui uses it.
The barrel of the replica is finished, as in the original, with three lugs that allow the installation of a flash hider or dedicated silencers with an added adapter, because the outer barrel itself does not have a popular 14 mm thread at the end.
The replica is equipped with a magazine with a capacity of 72 BBs, but rumor has it that a hi-cap version with a capacity of 200 BB will also be available. An interesting fact is that the magazine is as close as possible to the size of the real one, which means that it has different dimensions than the previous standard MP5 TM magazines and thus the "old" magazines will not be compatible with the new MP5A5 Next Gen M-System.
