Nowadays, weapons not equipped with optical sights are less and less common on the real and airsoft battlefield. One can write long elaborations about the advantages of optics on a weapon, but it all comes down to one statement - a reflex sight, a holosight or a scope significantly accelerate the precision of hitting a target.
Airsoft players are often faced with a choice - invest a large sum in a more recognized brand of optics, sometimes originating from the firearms market, or use the benefits of cheap optics from the PRC. Many companies, including Black Owl Gear, are trying to fill the gap between both ends of the spectrum with greater or lesser success.

The company specializes in the production of optics and mounts, which, in their opinion, can be successfully used both on firearms and on replicas. The latest BOG product is the BO-SSR1502-BK 4-Reticle Reflex Sight.

It 4 modes of displaying the cross/aiming point, the lenses are covered with a layer that protects them against scratching and improves the image quality. In addition, the manufacturer ensures that the optics are waterproof and resistant to shocks and fogging. However, the greatest advantage seems to be the manufacturer's assurance that the sight is able to keep the so-called zero (the crosshair does not move) when using a firearms chambered for by .223 Remington/5.56x45mm ammunition.

BO-SSR1502 is another product after the SSM0843 magnifiers and Hexa series sights, which are advertised as suitable for use on firearms.

Black Owl Gear products can undoubtedly entice potential buyers with  their prices which, depending on the model, range between about 50 and 190 USD. The question remains whether and for how long we can count on maintaining the "zero" using BOG optics on firearms? We leave the question of aesthetics to each own's individual assessment.
