Specna Arms Prime BB Comparison Test

Introduction

On February 5, 2025, a comparative accuracy test was conducted for the new Specna Arms Prime BBs at the ASG "Hotel Tenis" Training Ground near Opole. The new Specna product was compared with other popular BBs used at this range, namely Infinity, Specna Arms Edge Ultra, and G&G Armament. The test aimed to evaluate grouping and accuracy at a specified range.

Delta Armory
Methodology

For the test, two replicas from the ASG "Hotel Tenis" Training Ground arsenal were used. In both cases, they were PRO series replicas that had been tuned, including the installation of an EON hop-up chamber from GATE Enterprise with a properly matched bucking and spacer, as well as a Lambda 6.05 barrel. Additionally, both replicas were equipped with a ASTER II system from GATE Enterprise and a brushless Dark Matter motor. For 0.25g BBs, a Specna Arms Prime replica was used, while for 0.30g BBs, a Delta Armory replica was used.

The target was a paper sheet measuring 420x297 millimeters (A3 format) placed 25 meters from the shooting position. The replica was immobilized to minimize shooter influence on the test results. Approximately 40 shots were fired toward the target, always using the same magazine and without changing the hop-up settings. Each series was aimed at the same spot on the target.

The air temperature was -7 degrees Celsius at the start and -4 degrees at the end of the test, with no wind present.

For 0.25g BBs, the tested brands were: G&G Armament, Infinity, Specna Arms Edge Ultra, and Specna Arms Prime.
For 0.30g BBs, the tested brands were: G&G Armament, Specna Arms Edge Ultra, and Specna Arms Prime.

Specna Arms Prime

Chronograph Test (10 shots):

Weight 0.25g
G&G Armament: 1.39/1.40 Joules
Infinity: 1.40 Joules
Specna Arms Edge Ultra: 1.40 Joules
Specna Arms Prime: 1.39-1.41 Joules

Weight 0.30g
G&G Armament: 1.35-1.36 Joules
Specna Arms Edge Ultra: 1.35-1.36 Joules
Specna Arms Prime: 1.35 Joules

Test using 0.25g BBs
The first tested BBs were from G&G Armament. As seen in the photo, most hits landed in the lower-left quadrant of the target. The spread between the farthest hits was 160 mm, 155 mm, 110 mm, and 105 mm. It can be said that 6 to 7 hits were on the sector's edges. However, considering the grouping of the majority of the BBs (excluding extreme outer ones), the result was up to 60 mm from the center hit mark.

G&G 0.25g

BBs from Infinity performed significantly worse. Hits were scattered across both lower sectors of the target, with extreme hits being up to 250 mm apart. As shown in the photo, there was no clear grouping around a single hit mark.

Infinity 0.25

For Specna Arms Edge Ultra, there was also considerable spread across both lower sections of the target, with one hit landing 4 cm from the center in the upper-left quadrant. The largest distance between hit marks was 245 mm vertically and 235 mm horizontally. Slightly more than half of the hits were concentrated in the lower-left quadrant. The accuracy results for these BBs were similar to those of Infinity.

Specna Arms Ultra 0.25

Finally, we tested Specna Arms Prime BBs. At first glance, the results seemed similar to those of Infinity and Ultra. The distance between the farthest hit marks was 250 mm vertically and 215 mm horizontally. Most BBs hit the lower-left sector of the target. Only one BB hit the upper-left sector, and six landed in the lower-right sector. However, what is not visible on the target is that some BBs failed to reach it. During the test, a few BBs dropped a few meters before the target, which was not observed in the previous three tests.

Specna Arms PRIME

Test using 0.30g BBs

We started with G&G Armament BBs. The furthest vertical spread was 225 mm, and horizontal was 160 mm. However, there were only a few extreme hit marks, as seen in the photo. Most hits were within a radius of approximately 70 mm from the central hit.

G&G Armament 0.30

Specna Arms Edge Ultra performed quite well. The maximum vertical spread was 200 mm, and horizontal was 110 mm. Ignoring rare outer hit marks, most were within a 60 mm radius from the central point.

Specna Arms Ultra 0.30

Finally, we tested Specna Arms Prime. The extreme distances were around 215 mm vertically and 185 mm horizontally. Many BBs hit the upper edge of the target, despite aiming at the lower section each time. Some BBs even overshot the target, so the 120 mm vertical spread cannot be considered definitive. Considering lateral spread, the accuracy could be estimated at around 100 mm from the center point.

Specna Arms PRIME

Conclusion

Throughout the test, we did not change the hop-up settings, always aimed at the lower part of the target, and fired approximately 40 shots. G&G Armament BBs were expected to set a quality benchmark, and they did not disappoint. The test demonstrated that Infinity and Specna Arms Edge Ultra were similar in both accuracy and polish quality. The 0.25g Prime BBs performed decently, though some fell short of the target. In the 0.30g category, significant differences in impact marks were noted among the products.
