The SCAR L carbine was made at the request of USSOCOM which, some time ago, was looking for a successor of the M4A1 carbine and its derivatives. After a series of tests however, the SCAR -L did not enter service in the units subordinated to SOCOM. Nevertheless, FN Herstal acquired orders for a new carbine from Belgium, Chile, and other countries.

The airsoft replica, which is the point of this news, has a de facto custom upper receiver, made by the Japanese company FIRST. It was built to be compatible with the Tokyo Marui SCAR-L New Generation Recoil Shock replica.
