As reported by the milmag.pl portal, The US Army is about to announce a company that will deliver 167,195 M4 and M4A1 carbines. The contract is to be signed for five years, that is from 2020 to 2025.
Let us remind you that the design was put into service in the 1990s. The M4 and M4A1 versions differ in the modes of fire. The M4, apart for single fire, has the ability to fire in three round bursts. The M4A1 replaces the burst fire mode with the full-auto mode.
