The SIG Sauer company, in a press release, informed about making and presentation of a unique model of one of its flagship products to a former member of SEAL Team 6, Britt Slabinski.
CMC Slabinski was awarded the Medal of Honor on May 24, 2018 by President Donald Trump for his actions on the Takur Ghar hill on March 4, 2002. During the skirmish of the American special forces with the Taliban (in which another SEAL , Neil Roberts died). Slabinski, commanding a reconnaissance unit, codename MAKO 30, led an almost 14-hour rescue mission. The purpose of the mission was to enable the evacuation of the crew of a shot down Chinook helicopter from the Takur Ghar hill. He had to wait 16 years for recognition.
Equipment used by Slabinski during the action at Takur Ghar - a SR 25 rifle, a SIG Sauer P226 pistol, an RRV Eagle Industries jacket.

The SIG Sauer company, whose P226 (MK25) model was at that time the basic sidearm of the SEAL operators, decided to honor CMC Slabinski with a unique model of this particular pistol. The MK25 Commemorative was created at the Sig Custom Works and is characterized by:
- a slide inlaid with 24k gold, on which there are, among motta to which the SEALs adhere to, 6 stars symbolizing Slabinski's SEAL team number (6) and the likeness of the Medal of Honor engraved on a piece of metal from the World Trade Center
- a matte frame with black American walnut panels with SEAL Trident on the left side and the emblem of the Slabinski's team (Red Unit Medallion) on the right.
SIG Sauer has produced a film about the heroic deeds of CMC Britt Slabinski.
