New Russian PCC?

On the Russian portal "molot.biz" photos have appeared, depicting a mysterious, prototype carbine powered with a pistol cartridge (PCC - Pistol Caliber Carbine) called "Agishevskiy pistol-carbine". There is little information on this weapon, but a careful analysis of the available photos may provide some characteristics of the new Russian product.

This PCC is equipped with a picatinny rail for mounting optics and a front that appears to be made in the M-LOK system - although those can just be holes that facilitate heat dissipation from the heated barrel. Similar to the AK, the magazine release system has a lever located behind the magazine well.

In the photographs, we can see a 9 mm PufGun magazine from which are also used in the Saiga-9 carbines.

The new PCC has also been equipped with a Vepr grip and folding stock mounted to the rear of the receiver.

The interior of the Agishevskiy carbine also looks interesting.

The trigger seems to be similar to that of the AK system - the characteristic spring known to the users of Russian carbines is clearly visible.

The bolt group assembly of two components, and the charging handle can be mounted on the left and right side - facilitating left-handed shooters.

The Agishevskiy pistol-carbine prototype seems to be a breeze of fresh air on the AK dominated Russian market. We will follow its development.
