Team Wendy has announced significant modifications to its EXFIL® Carbon helmet. The changes include an improved Zorbium® foam insert system and updated size options. The above changes allowed the EXFIL helmets to meet the necessary requirements demanded by the Canadian Department of National Defense (DND) in the tender process. Team Wendy became the winner of the tender and will provide the Canadians with a batch of the modified helmets.

The EXFIL Carbon helmets are to be introduced within the next five years into the Canadian uniformed services. They will be used by the Naval Boarding Parties, tactical teams of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and other units.
Modifications made at the request of the Canadian government will be also available in EXFIL Carbon helmets sold on the civilian market. The list of modifications is below:

• A newly designed Zorbium® foam insert that exceeds the ACH Blunt Impact requirements, reducing the perceived force of impact by more than half. The system replaces the previous options of the helmet insert and is equipped with three pieces of impact inserts and eight adjustable inserts for optimal fit and comfort of use as standard.

• An additional shell size option provides a wider range of fit and greater comfort.

• The Mohawk style Velcro® strap along the top of the helmet, similar to the one on the EXFIL Ballistic and EXFIL Ballistic SL helmets, gives the user more space to attach accessories.

In addition to exceeding the ACH Blunt Impact requirements, the EXFIL Carbon also exceeds the shock absorption requirements described in the BS EN 1385: 2012 standard.

EXFIL helmets are offered in three colors (black, coyote and MultiCam®) and in two sizes: size 1 (M / L) and size 2 (XL). The latest improvements to the helmet will not affect its price, which is still expected to be 585.87 USD.
