Let's start to the very beginning. What is the IcePlate Curve? Well, this is a water tank ... but quite an unusual one, because it gives the user the opportunity to carry it directly in the compartment to designed to carry a ballistic plate in a bulletproof vest, or between the vest and the uniform. Frozen water cools the body, and after thawing it can be drunk.
The inserts have been available on the market for some time nos, but not so long ago the manufacturer introduced a new version in the shape perfectly matching that of the standard ESAPI ballistic plate in size M and with a water fill port enlarged from 20 mm to 28 mm. Further improvements in the new version of the insert are provided by the Q-Hex Baffle System which maintains the shape of the insert when freezing the water inside and reducing noise made by melted ice rattling inside.
The new Wide Fill Port mentioned above ensures faster filling of the tank, and its placement at the lowest point of the tank ensures the use of all the inside, as well as its fast emptying and easy cleaning. According to the manufacturer, the universal Quick Disconnect interface ensures that the tank will work with most military and civil hydration lines available on the market, including CamelBak or Source.
Additionally, the fastening straps offered by the manufacturer enable the use of IcePlate Curve directly between the ballistic vest and the uniform/clothing.
The insets fit most plate carriers that hold ESAPI M plates. The tank, just like its older version, has a capacity of 1.5 L.
They are available in the Frost, Coyote Brown and Wolf Gray colors for 39 USD.
