In the first days of September we had the opportunity to watch a pre-production copy of the new Colt 2011 made as a joint effort by Army Armament and Taiwangun(LINK).

As we have found out, the new Army R501 will be available within  days.

Basic features:
- all-metal design;
- island barrel with a compensator;
- new generation sealed valves;
- a reinforced nozzle;
- a fiber optic front sight.

The gun is designed to be powered by Green Gas and CO2 magazines.

The R501 is a replica of the STI Costa Carry Comp, that is a 2011 Colt version ("HiCapa") made in cooperation between STI and Chris Costa. It is one of the few duty  pistols available on the market that has a factory installed compensator.

Chris Costa is currently one of the shooting world celebrities. Runs the company Costa Ludus. He previously worked/served at Magpul Dynamics and the US Coast Guard, to just name some. Few people know that in 2016 Chris Costa trained officers of the combat division of the 3rd Board of the CBŚP (source and photo: CBŚP).

The original STI Costa Carry Comp is an expensive weapon. In Poland, one unit was sold for nearly 18,000 PLN (source: www.deer.pl).
