The benefits of using brushless motors are obvious. Greater reliability, greater efficiency (less heating, lower power consumption), better performance. This type of motor is currently widely used in industry, and for several years also in RC models. Some time ago a brushless motor dedicated to AEG replicas also appeared. Its basic disadvantage, however, was the price. In some stores it could cost over 250 EUR. But it seems that this period is already behind us. A much cheaper brushless motor has appeared on the market, the performance of which is impressive. This is a simplified model, without any programming functions, but the price is noticeably lower. The Option No.1 motor costs just 113 USD at the AirSoft Taiwan store.

The store compared how two replicas work - a fully stock with muzzle velocity of approx. 115 m/s and identical, but with a muzzle velocity of approx. 140 m/s (M130 spring) with the Option No. 1 motor. The results speak for themselves. In both cases the replica were powered by 7.2V and 11.1V LiPo batteries.

A programmable Xpert motor is also available in the store - it seems to be the model mentioned in the introduction. Currently in AST it costs 150 USD.
