Due to the dynamically developing epidemic situation in European countries, the fair that was to be held at the beginning of March, at 27 February were moved to September, with the simultaneous information that it will also be the new date for future IWA editions. This decision was puzzling from our point of view, because IWA, next to the Shot Show (Las Vegas, USA) are the most important events in the shooting industry, including airsoft, tactical equipment and "tactical" outdoor. During the fair, the most important global manufacturers present their new products for the coming year. So these are not only business fairs (only for the people from the industry have visit them) but more so the global industry media are all focused on these events. However, as the exhibitors have now learned from the message they have just received that the September date will most likely be canceled, and next year's edition will be scheduled for March 12-15, 2021.
Canceling the announced date of the fair once again has serious financial consequences for exhibitors. In compensation, the fair only offers a modest discount for the 2021 edition. Meanwhile foreign companies had to bear the costs of only the stands, airline tickets for employees and hotels, but also warehouses in the case of the largest companies, all booked well in advance. This is a large logistic undertaking, and preparations for the next IWA start immediately after the current fair. Media and visitors of the fair also book hotels and flight tickets in advance, often paying in advance without the option of refund or compensation.
It remains to wait for the development of events also in Poland. Our "IWA" was to take place in Warsaw in April. Euro Target Shooting is an accelerating event in terms of topics similar to IWA. However, this is an admission fair for people not only from the industry. In connection with the prevailing SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, ETS has also recently been moved, this time to October 9-11.
We will inform you about any developments.
