The first generation of the Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 holographic sights appeared in 2017. The sight seemed to be the answer of Vortex, successively claiming the electro-optics market, to Eotech holographic sights.
The sight offered such functions as the sight ring with a central 1 MOA dot - similar to the one found in sights made by the competition, shock resistance and water resistance up to 80 feet (24 meters), micro USB port for additional charging capability (apart from the use of CR123A battery) and a QD type mount.
Despite a good advertising campaign and being used by US Special Forces operators, the sight did sell in any larger quantities and did not conquer the civilian market.
Will this change with the new Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 Gen II?
In relation to the original, the manufacturer has introduced, among other things, 4 night vision modes with a dedicated NV button, enlarging the emitter lens, a new way of installing the battery without using tools. The total weight of the sight was also reduced. It also offers shock resistance and water resistance of IPX8 class (protection against water during continuous immersion and increased water pressure (1 m depth), no parallax error, 15 brightness levels of the reticle (dot size is 1MOA, and the reticle size 65MOA) and as in the previous generation it has an integrated QD mount for attaching it to Picatinny rails.
The release date of the new sight or its price were not given, although it is speculated that the price will oscillate at around 649.99 USD, just like the first generation. The Razor AMG UH-1 Gen II is naturally covered by the excellent, lifetime Vortex VIP Warranty.
