It all began with the vision of one man, the late General Sławomir Petelicki and the painstaking work of a group of his colleagues. Vision and stubbornness turned into order No. 001/90 of July 13, 1990, issued by the Minister in Internal Affairs, Krzysztof Kozłowski (in the government of Tadeusz Mazowiecki), who founded JW GROM.

Much has been written about GROM and we do not want to quote such great books as "GROM, Strength and Honor. The only interview with the general" by Michał Komar, "Thirteen years of mine in JW GROM" by Andrzej K. Kisl or the NAVAL book series.

Instead, we want to express our gratitude to the soldiers and commanders of this unique unit on its 30th anniversary.
