Premier Body Armor has presented a new proposition for low-profile personal protection: ballistic inserts for Concealed Armor Shirts made by Tru-Spec.
The new inserts provide IIIA protection level and weigh just 0.8 pounds (about 400 g) per panel. The whole set weighs less than 2 pounds (about 900 g) and allows low-profile protection without all the disadvantages of a traditional bulletproof vest.
Premier Body Armor panels have been designed and tested in accordance with the NIJ0101.06 standard. With a thickness of only 56 mm, the panels resist 9 mm, .40, .45 and .44 Magnum rounds. The panels are also prepared to stop the ammunition of .12 smoothbore weapons: shotgun pellets and slugs, 9 mm Liberty Civil Defense and FN 5.7×28 mm rounds.
Premier Body Armor panels are also resistant to puncturing and cutting and a 5-year warranty ensures the replacement of the insert in case of damage.
The Tru-Spec Concealed Armor Shirt, for which the panels were designed, was made of the TRU-DRI™ compression material, that wicks moisture away, and is made of 85% polyester and 15% spandex. Ballistics pockets are surrounded by a polyester mesh and 2 mm foam and have reinforced corners to prevent plate movement.
