Why the unusual form and why was it done "again"? Some time ago Leupold introduced a sight called the D - Evo.
The sight with 6x magnification is mounted in front of a collimator on a rifle. The design allows you to quickly switch between both sights without the need to change the way the weapon is held or change one's posture.
This time Leupold decided to revolutionize the market of pistol micro collimators (despite having the excellent Delta Point Pro model in its offer) by presenting the DeltaPoint Micro model.
The collimator is a low-profile construction, mounted in the place of the pistol rear sight, thanks to which the point of the dot is perfectly aligned with the front sight - as in the case of iron sights. The diode is placed in a closed emitter, which protects against dirt and moisture. The battery compartment is located in the rear part behind the pistol slide and allows the battery to be changed without removing the optics from the gun.
The dot size is 3 MOA, the adjustment range is 180 MOA horizontally and 100 MOA vertically, and the design of the collimator allows it to be used as a ghost ring sight in the event of electronics failure. With a low weight of 31.18 g and compact dimensions of 31.75 mm / 51.15 mm, the DeltaPoint Micro seems to be an interesting alternative, especially for people wearing weapons under their clothes and unwilling to give up the advantages of a weapon equipped with a collimator.
At the moment, Leupold offers the new collimator for Glock and S&W M&P pistols - both at a suggested price of 519.99 USD.
