Springfield Armory, a company known mainly from the production of 1911 pistols and M14 rifles, has presented its version of the legendary Browning Hi-Power pistol.
The legend began with the construction of a prototype in 1921 by FN Herstal under the watchful eye of John Moses Browning. The gun, after several years and many turbulences, began service in the armies of Belgium, Peru, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The initial lack of interest in weapons was changed by the Second World War, during which HP fell into the hands of Canadians, Chinese and, after taking over the FN factories - Germans. The weapon in its many varieties turned out to be so effective that it found its way to such units as SAS or GROM.
Springfield Armory offers its version of the pistol called the SA-35 9mm.
The number 35 refers to 1935, when the work on the original prototype was completed. The Springfield Armory product retains the line of the original, but not all components have been "cloned". First of all, the sights were changed to more modern ones with a front sight with a white dot and a rear sight with notches. The length of the safety lever was also extended and the magazine well was enlarged to facilitate reloading.
The weapon also has Springfield Armory markings, not FN, and the grip panels are made of walnut wood. The price set by the manufacturer for the SA-35 9mm pistol is $ 699.
