Sig Sauer decided to refresh the design of one of its smallest mini red dot sights a bit and introduces the Romeo Zero in the Elite version.
The material from which the housing of the new sight is made is undoubtedly interesting, because it is a polymer reinforced with carbon fiber. This design ensures a low weight of the optics (14.2g), which is compatible with the main purpose of the sight, i.e. using it on compact or subcompact pistols.
The Romeo Zero Elite is by default designed to work with Sig Sauer P365X/XL pistols and others equipped with the Shield RMS/RMSc footprint that is, among other models, the Springfield Hellcat OSP and the GLOCK G43X MOS models (the set with this sight comes with special extended screws that allow mounting in on those guns). In the opinion of the manufacturer, the polymer housing is supposed to reduce not only weight, but also production costs.
The lower weight of the optics means that when mounted on small and light weapon, it will not cause problems with proper slide cycling. Despite the assurances of the high strength of the sight, the manufacturer adds a metal cover to the set - probably to ensure absolute certainty that the equipment will not fail in difficult conditions.
The sight's housing is also equipped with anti-reflective notches and a rear sight with Swiss SuperLuminova pigment for easier aiming.
Inside the Romeo Zero Elite one will find MOTAC systems which activates the optics when motion is detected and turning it off when the sight is at rest and T.A.P, a system of touch brightness selection and red dot programming. The sight is available with two dot patterns, a classic one in 3 MOA size and a 32 MOA ring with a 2 MOA dot, a bit like the classic Eotech pattern.
The optics is powered by a CR1632 battery, which, according to the manufacturer, provides 20,000 hours of operation. The new Rome Zero Elite will cost $ 259.99 for the 32 MOA/2MOA ring recicle version and $ 229.99 for the 3MOA dot version. The sights are assembled in the USA.
