During the ongoing SHOT Show 2024, InfiRay has presented a new product from the refreshed RICO2 line: the RHR50R. It differs from its predecessor with a whole range of important improvements and indicates the direction in which subsequent models of this series will go.
The RICO2 RH50R is based on the tried and true RICO Mk1 design. However, it uses a 640x512 pixels thermal sensor with a pixel size of 12 µm with significantly increased NETD sensitivity: ﹤20 mK (compared to ≤40 mK in the previous model). The image refresh rate has also increased to 60 Hz (compared to 50 Hz in RICO Mk1). The use of a large AMOLED 1.03" screen with a resolution of 2560x2560 pixels (AMOLED 0.39", 1024x768 px in RICO Mk1) significantly improves the comfort of using the sight.
Of course, this is not the end of improvements. The RICO2 RH50R uses Advanced Image Correction and Automatic Image Optimization. The new product is equipped with an integrated laser rangefinder with a range of approximately 1200 meters, a magnetic charging port and an intuitive magnification adjustment wheel, similar to the adjustment used in traditional sights. The sensor paired with F50/1.0 optics results in 3x basic optical magnification, which can be digitally increased four times.

The RICO2 RH50R is not the only new product by InfiRay presented at SHOT Show 2024. The offer will also include the Hybrid HYH75W sight with a 75 mm /F1.0 lens, intended for use at long ranges, but this is a topic for a separate article.
