Belgian arms manufacturer Fabrique Nationale Herstal (most commonly known as FN Hernstal) makes not only about rifles and carbines, but also has quite a long history of producing handguns. From the old (but still used) Browning Hi-Power, through the modern Five Seven to the currently developed 500 series. In the case of airsoft replicas, the choice is definitely limited in terms of both models and manufacturers, but the latest addition may interest some fans. The FN 509 pistol replica was created in cooperation with brands such as Cybergun and Evike Manufacturing Group.
The replica is based on the Tactical variant, which is a Full Size design, has a threaded external barrel for mounting accessories and a slide that is factory-adapted for mounting optics. In addition, the replica has a metal slide with full caliber, model and manufacturer's logo markings.
It also features raised iron sights with fiber optic inserts. As befits a this modern, the pistol's frame is made of polymer and houses an underbarrel rail of a flashlight, textured grip, replaceable tangs, and manipulators in the form of a double-sided slide stop lever. The whole thing works with dedicated Green Gas magazines for FN 509 replicas with a capacity of 20 BBs and generates a muzzle velocity of around 330 fps using 0.2g BBs.
The replica is now available for pre-order at the Evike store for $139 in both black and tan colors.
