With evenings getting darker faster and faster people tend to changes EDC they carry around, where a flashlight is most often added to the set. NITECORE has presented its latest proposal in this area with the new EDC23 Saber flashlight. Its miniature design includes a slim housing with a flat cross-section (13.5 x 102.8 x 33 mm) and two NiteLab Uhi 25 LEDs which, according to the manufacturer, generates a total of 2500 lumens, 20720candela and offers a maximum range of 280 meters.

The LEDs themselves are a new product combining even smaller dimensions (emitter surface is just 2.6mm2), and 6500K color range, and are placed in OP reflectors. The whole is powered by an integrated Li-ion battery with a capacity of 1500mAh charged via a USB-C socket.

For even better control over the modes, a physical locking slider has been introduced for partial or complete locking of the flashlight. Control over the flashlight is done with two buttons that are responsible for selecting modes.

The smaller, protruding button is responsible for changing the brightness, switching on the Ultra Low mode and turning the flashlight on and off. Additionally, it is inactive when the device is partially or fully locked. The second, larger button is placed on the same level as the housing and offers Turbo and Strobe 2.0 modes (with randomly changing frequency) in unlocked and partially locked modes. All operating modes are presented below:

Additional protection against accidental activation in the nooks of clothing is a proximity sensor, which limits power of the light when an obstacle is detected.

Settings, battery voltage, mode or remaining operating time can be viewed on an OLED display.

The whole thing is placed in a housing made of stainless steel with carbon fiber reinforcements and a passive aluminum radiator to dissipate excess heat. Thanks to this design, the flashlight meets the IP54 waterproof standard and can survive a fall from a height of up to 2 meters without any problems.

The EDC23 Saber from NITECORE is now available for sale at the manufacturer's website for 89.95 USD.
