"SKAUT" Shooting Club from Bielsko-Biała (Śląskie Voivodeship) has a long history of its activities. Founded in 1999, it continues to associate sports shooting enthusiasts, enabling them to develop skills and exchange experiences.
The club is open to people of all ages and with different levels of skills - also supports beginner shooters who want to start their way of getting a shooting patent. Caring for a variety of activities, KS "SKAUT" organizes both trainings, static and dynamic shooting competitions. With a view of further development, it also examines new areas of players' interest, often creating subsequent sections.
Last Sunday we had the opportunity to take part in one of it cyclical initiatives - the final round of the 8th edition of the rimfire league. Although the beginnings of this cycle date back to 2017, its rapid increase in popularity occurred after the Covid-19 pandemic period. Since then, the start lists are quickly filling up, and the attendance during the final rounds sometimes exceeds a hundred people.
Although the main part of the competition takes place at a closed shooting range in Bielsko-Biała and is based on static competitions using pistols and rimfire rifles, this is the final round for several years, it has been moving to the field shooting range in Jawiszowice (Małopolska). There, competitors also fight for medals in additional competitions. This year they were, among others, Simple IPSC tracks (for Production and Standard classes), static shooting from rimfire and centerfire rifles, double trap and Shoot-Off duels.
The organization of the competition deserves high praise. The opening appeal and the start of the event took place as planned. Registration of participants was efficient thanks to earlier online registration. The division of competitors into teams and starting competition in parallel on many ranges significantly reduced the waiting time. The staff serviced the event with great kindness and a sense of humor, supported the participants throughout the day, building an atmosphere of mutual respect and fun. The tension was only growing at the shooting positions, where the safety rules were meticulously observed.
The competitions on most ranges ended faster than assumed. Participants could then take advantage of a hot meal and cold drinks provided by the organizers, which were extremely desirable that day. In the meantime, preparations for spectacular Shoot -Off duels - one of the most watched competitions there, which, as usual, provided a lot of emotions.
After selecting the winners, it was time for announcement of the results and awarding the prizes - both for the final round itself and for the entire cycle of this year's rimfire league . The final classification was won by Seweryn Kędzior from the Ustroń Shooting Club, and the podium was completed by Grzegorz Anczakowski (Gun Club Bielsko-Biała) and Katarzyna Bieniek (KS Ustroń). Congratulations!
We would like to thank the organizers and the whole team for a well -prepared event. And to those who value more dynamic events, we remind you: the next competition of the "SKAUT" shooting club - Summer Challenge - will take place on July 13 in Jawiszowice.
