The most commonly chosen type of support weapon replica is probably the FN Minimi, also widely known as the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW). However, there are also replicas of larger platforms from FN Herstal. In this case, we are referring to the M240 machine gun (also known as the FN MAG), a refreshed version of which was presented by Golden Eagle during IWA 2026.
The replica itself is not new and has previously been available on the market. The new variant was developed in cooperation with Evike Manufacture Group (EMG), resulting in a fully licensed replica bearing FN Herstal trademarks. It was presented in the M240 L(ima) variant, featuring an aluminum receiver, a shortened barrel with a quick-detach system, a top cover equipped with a rail for optics mounting, an integrated bipod, and mounting points for a tripod.
Unfortunately, despite a satisfactory level of build quality, future users will have to deal with certain drawbacks, such as a dedicated gearbox frame and proprietary internal parts, including the hop-up chamber and BB box, as well as a single fire mode (full-auto only). The M240 Lima replica from Golden Eagle is expected to hit the market in Q4 of this year.
Other replicas from Golden Eagle include the Pro series, covering 2011/Hi-Capa pistol replicas in many variants with steel trigger components, slide-mounted optics solutions or additional mounts, as well as gas-powered shotgun replicas such as the Saiga 12K (with full-auto capability) or the KelTec KSG.
Other replicas from Golden Eagle can be found under the new ATP (Alpha Tactical Production) line, which will soon enter the market and will include new replica models.
