SIG Sauer pistol replicas from Vega Force Company first appeared over two years ago. At that time, the company introduced the SA-320, based on the more modern SIG P320 design (recently reviewed on WMASG in Stark Arms SA-320 [Review]), as well as the more classic SA-226, a replica inspired by the iconic SIG P226 — the Swiss-designed pistol used (currently or in the past) by military and law enforcement units such as the SEALs, Secret Service, Formoza, and GROM.
The Stark Arms SA-226 faithfully reproduces all of the distinctive features of the SIG P226, including the decocker lever with its fully functional mechanism and the ability to place the hammer in a half-cocked position (although in a slightly different position than on the original, eliminating the risk of an accidental discharge if the pistol is dropped on the hammer). The replica features an aluminum frame with steel components, including the controls and the trigger assembly with the hammer mechanism.
The replica is planned to be available in two versions (just like the SA-320): a standard model and a tactical model. The latter features a more modernized configuration, including raised iron sights, a threaded outer barrel, and an optics-ready slide. Aside from these differences, both versions share the same magazines, internal components, the proprietary tool-free Hop-Up adjustment system, a standard underbarrel accessory rail for mounting tactical lights, and a functional trigger mechanism capable of operating in both Single Action and Double Action modes.
At present, only the Stark Arms SA-226 Tactical variant has reached the market. It comes equipped with an optics-ready slide, raised iron sights, and a threaded outer barrel.
The Vega Force Company Stark Arms SA-226 Tactical, supplied with one magazine, is priced at approximately 150 USD. No information has yet been provided regarding the release of the standard version.
