The receiver

The lower receiver is modeled on the UDR-15 3G Style 2 F-1 Firearms. The original receiver is made of 7075-T6 aluminum. In the replica, it is most likely an alloy (ZnAl), although Taiwangun.com states that it is aluminum finished using CNC machines. A characteristic feature is a considerably enlarged permanent trigger guard, a magazine well inclined at a 60-degree angle and well's edges that facilitate and speed-up the changing of the magazine. Due to the aggressive openwork design of the receiver, the edges that have been left are clearly thickened.

The replica's receiver reproduces the original very precisely. It even has marking identical with the real firearm.

The original:

The only unnecessary thing seems to be the AUTO setting at the fire selector. The original is a sports rifle, so it does have a full auto mode. The receiver features the two pins of the trigger mechanism characteristic for this design. And that we get the AUTO marking. When keeping such a high attention to detail, a better solution would be a lack of this marking. The replica would shoot in full auto mode with out it no problem.

The upper receiver
The upper receiver is a copy of the UDR-15 3G Style 1 F-1 Firearms. Similarly to the lower receiver, it is very openwork. It a way typical for advanced sports rifles it lacks the forward assist and the deflector is reduced to a bare minimum. It also has no ejector port cover.

The oryginal:

F-1 Firearms also produces upper receivers the Style 2 version, which differ in the size and shape of the holes cut in them. Nevertheless, the weight of the Style 1 and 2 versions is identical.

Style 2:

The real curiosity, however, is Style 2 Lefty - a version dedicated to left-handed shooters, with the ejector port on the left side:

The features reducing the receiver's weight probably gave the desired effect - it weighs only 363 grams.

The front

The rifle is equipped with a licensed copy of the 12.7 inch C7K F-1 Firearms front. Similarly to the receiver, Taiwangun.com sates that it is made of aluminum and finished using digitally controlled machines. I can not verify this information. Undoubtedly, the front and the receiver of the replica are made very cleany and carefully.
At the bottom and sides, the front has mounting slots made in the Keymod standard.

The bottom:

The left side (the right one look identical):

As you can see in the above photo taken from the top, the Picatinny rail runs through the entire length of the front, which perfectly joins with the rail on the upper receiver:

The front should be recognized by people who like Chris Costa's technique or similar. Part of the front is devoid of Keymod slots and is clearly narrower, which facilitates gripping it with a far outstretched hand.

The front is attached to the mounting ring with screws visible in the previous photos, which makes it very secure. It is also additionally secured against rotating around the barrel axis with two "claws" between which the upper receiver is pushed in.

The buttstock

The replica uses a 6-position telescopic RS2 butstock also used in other APS replicas. The stock moves on the standard AR-15 stock guide. In principle, the whole stock is made of composite. The only metal parts are the pins and small assembly elements.

The carrying sling can be threaded through the port located around the guide or fastened to the included QD type mount:

The symbol of the stock- the APS skull:

Once again, a very convenient solution is the above-mentioned gentle bending the buttstock plate forward. Thanks to this, the rifle pointed with the barrel down jumps into the right place almost by itself.

Pushing the marked pin allows you to tilt the foot and get to the battery compartment.
