On Thursday, June 5, WMASG.com visited the Pawłów Shooting Range (Opole Voivodeship) – a modern site with attractive facilities and numerous, diverse shooting tracks, under the daily care of the KOBE Shooting Club. The reason for the visit was a closed training in the use of Aimpoint® red dot sights on handguns and long guns, organized by the Hubertus Pro store in cooperation with the Aimpoint® brand, of which Hubertus Pro is the official representative in Poland. The substantive level of the event was additionally raised by the presence of experienced instructors from DTF Solutions.
The sunny, moderately warm and not too windy weather was ideal for outdoor activities. Right from the entrance, you could feel a friendly atmosphere - hospitable shooting range staff and the participants, who came from different parts of the country, created a positive, friendly aura. The training started on time - the participants were invited to the on-site gym, which served as an unusual conference room.
Hubertus Pro is known for its numerous renowned brands and initiatives promoting shooting – we have already written about some of them, e.g. the Summer Events. This time, the date of organizing the training was quite special, because the Swedish company Aimpoint AB is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In the first part of the event, Marcin Poklewski-Koziełł (Hubertus Pro) presented the schedule of the day, after which Ola Nordström and Axel Martinsson from Aimpoint AB presented the history of the brand, interesting product facts and key technical knowledge regarding working with red dot sights. During the presentation, it was also possible to take a closer look at the new, low-profile Aimpoint COA sight, designed for Glock pistols.
After the theoretical part, it was time for a short refreshment in the fresh air, after which instructors from DTF Solutions – Mat and Filip – conducted a mandatory training in safety rules and procedures applicable at the shooting range. Participants were divided into groups and directed to the appropriate tracks. The practical part was prepared with great care – the staff, full of passion and confidence resulting from experience, discussed in detail the nuances of working with a red dot sight.
Does a red dot sight is used only speed up aiming? Not at all. When properly used, it becomes an effective diagnostic tool supporting the improvement of grip, posture or weapon control. Fast and precise shooting, on the other hand, is a matter of accepting certain compromises, and the ability to predict and control them is the key to success. If anyone had any doubts, a one second demonstration by DTF Solutions instructors was enough to dispel them forever.
After several series of exercises with short and long guns, the participants could also test their skills on clay pigeons, using a shotgun equipped with a Aimpoint® Acro S-2™ 9 MOA red dot sight. The results? The clay pigeons that were shot down spoke for themselves.
Another great opportunity was to test AR-15 carbines from DTF Rifleworks in various configurations and with various Aimpoint® sights. Both during training and in private conversations, one could learn why this particular red dot sights brand is a frequent choice of professionals – both representatives of DTF Solutions and the event organizers, the Hubertus Pro store, work closely with it.
The official part ended with an American-style lunch – a great opportunity to exchange experiences and talk in a more relaxed atmosphere. After the meal, certificates were handed out and group photos were taken. Importantly, even after the training ended, the staff and equipment remained at the participants' disposal, which allowed for further exploration of the topic.
We would like to express our thanks to Hubertus Pro, the official representative of the Aimpoint® brand in Poland, the DTF Solutions team, representatives of Aimpoint AB and the management team of Strzelnica Pawłów – for preparing a training that will certainly remain in our memories for a long time.
