As announced, the renowned manufacturer of targeting optics, Aimpoint®, has revealed the details of a new red dot sight today, the Acro S-2™. Its compact design is based on the second generation Acro product line.
The Acro S-2™ has been designed in a way that allows it to be used on most shotguns with a ventilated rail available that are on the market (the manufacturer's offer includes replaceable mounting base parts). It is designed to be perfect for hunting birds and other small game, as well as for sports competitions. This is made easier by the low optical axis (15 mm) and the red spot size of 9 MOA.
Made of high-quality aluminum (with reinforced plastic mount), the aluminum sight weighs 68 g and has dimensions of 47x34x37 mm. It is equipped with a 10 level adjustment of red dot brightness. It is powered by a single CR2032 battery, which at an average level of dot's intensity should be enough for up to 50,000 hours of operation.
The Aimpoint® Acro S-2™ 9 MOA is resistant to adverse effects of water (it should withstand immersion to a depth of 5 meters) and is priced at 755 USD.
