Gate has announced today the upcoming release of two new products: an advanced drop-in system called ASTER and a simpler one called X-ASR.

The first one, initially dedicated exclusively for V2 gearboxes, is the younger brother of the well-known TYTAN module. This one is also bereaved of up any microswitches and other mechanical solutions. The position of the trigger and the movement of the sector gear are tracked by optical sensors. Despite the use of several more modern solutions, ASTER will be clearly cheaper than TYTAN while offering similar possibilities.

Comparison of functions of both systems:

ASTER will be able to be controlled by different firmware versions. The differences in the functionality of the system depending on the firmware version:

The second system is a MOSFET with a built-in intelligent fuse protecting against overheating. We are already familiar with the X-ASR. This is exactly the system that is factory installed in Specna Arms replicas from the Edge series.

Other features that distinguish the X-ASR from other simple MOSFETs are the built-in reverse polarity protection, automatic self-testing procedure activated after connecting the battery and the use of a protective coating in accordance with the MIL-V-173C specification.

X-ASR Connection diagram:

A small modification of the factory's electrical installation will be necessary, consisting of branching the cable marked above as motor positive to one of the contacts of the contact switch/microswitch and the "+" connector on the motor. Below is an example of the factory installation made in a Specna Arms Edge replica:

The planned release of both products is July 5.
