During this year's SHOT Show FN has presented two new additions to its civilian offer - the SCAR 20S rifles and the FN509 pistols.
The only noticeable difference between the earlier SCAR20S, chambered for the .308 Winchester, and the new one chambered for the 6.5 Creedmoor, is the muzzle break. FN decided to add the Surefire ProComp 762 muzzle break as a factory-fitted part, thanks to which the weapon is adapted to mount the silencer made by this company.
Near the SCAR20s rifles, you could also see the FN MK20 SSR - the military prototype of the SCAR20S, also chambered for the 6.5 Creedmoor.
Therefore, it can be concluded that this is another company (after KAC, for example) that is trying to "encourage" the US military to products adapted for this caliber.
During Shot Show 2020, FN has also presented new models of the FN 509 pistol in the Optics Ready variant - i.e. factory-fitted with a mount on the slide for attaching mini collimators , e.g. RMR, Docter etc.
The photos show a multitude of collimators with which the 509 models can work.
The guns were presented with an elevated (so-called suppressor height) iron sights, that can be aligned with a dot of the mini collimator, or used in the event of its failure.
