Two prototypes of the fire control system, designed specifically for cooperation with the innovative caliber of the NSGW system, are to be provided by Vortex and L3 (in cooperation with Leupold).

The NGSW-FC fire control system aims to increase the ability of soldiers to quickly target and attack human-size targets at a distance of up to 600 m, while maintaining the ability to conduct combat at close distances. These aiming features are to be achieved by using technology that calculates and displays relevant information on the reticle to the user.
The US Army hopes to decide on the winner for the 2022 fiscal year.
