Not only the Territorial Defense Forces, but the other branches of the Polish Army will soon receive the latest version of the GROT carbine, made by FB Łucznik. On Wednesday, the Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak signed a contract worth 177 million PLN (about 40 million EUR) for the supply of a batch of 18,000 additional carbines for the Polish Army during his visit to the factory in Radom. According to the Territorial Defense Forces command, the new carbines are to be the improved A2 version - GROT C16 FB-M2.
According to information from the Ministry of National Defense, 37 thousand carbines are currently in use. The GROT carbines, and two further development versions, were planned at the very beginning of the introduction of weapons into service and they are not the manufacturer's reaction to emerging technical problems.
Deliveries are to be made between 2020 and 2026.
