The Maskpol company, through its fan page, has informed about the continuation of work on the KWM 02/2020 vest, which is a development version of the KWM 02 model.
The vest protects the user against small arms fire, including armor piercing 7.62x39 BZ rounds (ballistic plates) as well as shrapnel and pistol rounds (soft inserts). The vest can also be equipped with a two-piece collar to protect the neck and nape, also panels that protect shoulders, abdomen and thigh. As in the older KMW-02 model, the 02/2020 version also features a QR (quick release) system and a drag handle.
One of the most interesting changes introduced in the KWM-02/2020 are additional buckles that allow to attach a CHEST-RIG panel, which can also be used separately in conjunction with a dedicated harness available with the entire set. Other changes include the introduction of additional S and M sizes, a change in the design of additional pockets compared to the KWM-02 - 2019 version and the replacement of two types of pouches (pistol and rifle) with the so-called "fast" variants.
A few days earlier, Maskpol has informed the public that it had already delivered 8,000 HP-05 ballistic helmets to the Polish army.
The helmets were delivered to ten out of fifteen territorial defense brigades and to soldiers from the Polish Military Contingents. The new helmet for the Polish Armed Forces has been introduced by the Command of the Territorial Defense Forces, which acts as the administrator of composite helmets in the armed forces.
By 2023, 50,000 of these helmets will be sent to the armed forces.
